Thailand means warm sea all year round, inexpensive street food and clear tourist infrastructure: from backpacker guesthouses to all-inclusive resorts. People come here for beach holidays on the islands of the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, for the city life of Bangkok, and for the north — Chiang Mai, with its temples and mountains.

The best time is the dry, cooler season from November to March: minimal rain, comfortable humidity and a clear sea. April and May are hot, and from June to October the monsoon rains arrive — short but regular, and prices are noticeably lower then.

The destination works well for couples and families with children, for groups on their first long-haul holiday, and for anyone who wants plenty of impressions on a moderate budget. There is enough English on the tourist islands to get by without sign language.
